Places ard sch

K market and Alepa (our main source of groceries, 10 mins walk from our house)

Finnish education : one starts school at age 6 or 7, then 6 years in primary school, 3 years in secondary school, then at 15 years old undergo 3 years in secondary high school, take matriculation examination, then go to university like TKK. For guys, there is compulsory conscription before university, 6 mths of army or 1 yr of civil service, normally pple choose the former because it is more macho. then the university course is likely to be a direct masters in 6 or 7 years.

Comm Network Lecture ( the few lectures in english)

It is much better than education in Spain. I was hearing from our new acquaintance Otto that in Spain, education is very competitive too and that the fave place for SEP would be Italy cos' it is easier to pass there. He is from the Polytechnik Institute of Madrid and he was saying hw competitive it was there, that only 3 to 5 % of the ppl pass the course.. imagine that! and out of this small number, only 60% complete their degree.

No happening activity to update so far. Our soccer has been halted for 2 wks as the hall is closed for some event. Maybe Marika's party this sat might yield more fotos. finnish exam is drawing close too 27th feb.. but from wat javier said abt his finnish 1b exam, i aint too worried. He actually rescheduled his exam cos he was holidaying in lapland (imagine postponing an exam for holiday!) then when he came back he took the exam and the tr just left them alone in the classroom.. then he juz take out book n copy.. and i finished LOSt season 1! damn nice series.. even those i watch on tv b4, i still re- watch.. evangeline lilly is the main eye candy! but i still like the way the plot was written and how the characters were entangled in this web.. well connected indeed . Meanwhile places ard sch:

Library

Dipoli ( it was the main area for the previous year's athletes village for the athletics world championship) also has the best canteen in sch..

Kaijun, jinfu and me at lake and the symbol/landmark of TKK i suppose.. FYI i m studying in the TECHNICAL uni so it is different from the real uni in helsinki..

Bus Terminal opposite my house.. its amazing how punctuality is emphasized here esp since i m always late.. the buses also got scheduled time to arrive at each bus stop.. there is this cool journey planner which u juz have to key in the places u are at n where u wanna go and it maps out the fastest route for u.. efficient right?
